The coronavirus pandemic which is also known asCOVID-19 was declared as an emergency public health by the WHO where more than four million people have been affected by the disease with more than 278,000deaths until May 11, 2020. Transmission and spread of infectious diseases can be prevented by public health initiatives such as physical distancing, self-isolation, and lockdown. In carrying out these efforts, technology has a very important role. During the COVID-19 pandemic, technology plays an important role in keeping our community functioning at both locked and quarantined. The purpose of this research is to describe trends in the use of technology to support physical distancing during the pandemic period. The method used in this research is a descriptive research method with the analysis of qualitative and quantitative data. Data collection techniques using literature studies with data sources in the form of books, scientific journals, reports, and official institutional websites. The results and discussion show that technology is becoming a trend and increasing its use during the pandemic including online shopping and digital payments, remote work, e-learning, telehealth, digital platforms entertainment, supply chain 4.0, robotics, and drones and information and communications technology (ICT). Some things that show these trends include a 161.4% Increase in Traffic to supermarkets Websites. Big tech giants like Amazon, Google, and Facebook recently announced that much of their workforce wouldn’t be coming into the office for the foreseeable future. Language apps, virtual tutoring, video conferencing tools, or online learning software, there has been a significant surge in usage since COVID-19. Digital health platforms in Singapore (Doctor Anywhere), Indonesia (Halodoc), and Australia (Hotdoc) are reporting a surge of activity that is 156%, 101%, and 40%. Social distancing, quarantining, and staying home have a significant effect on media consumption, which could rise up to 60%, according to recent research from Nielsen’s U.S. Media team. Many governments and companies have ordered millions of people to work from home or shut down, but the robotics industry continues, with more than $2.7 billion in reported transactions last month and also 5G has demonstrated its importance in remote monitoring and healthcare consultation, the rollout of 5G is delayed in Europe at the time when the technology may be needed the most. The existence of such technologies can help to reduce coronavirus spread while assisting activities in various areas of life such as business, education, health, economics can still run. Technology can help make the community more resilient in the face of a pandemic period.
